About Gauteng Transport Authority

The Gauteng Transport Authority (TAG) is an entity of the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (GDRT) established in terms of the Gauteng Transport Authority Act No 2 of 2019. The Authority is responsible for overseeing integrated transport planning within the province and driving the development of a cohesive, accessible, and efficient public transport network.

Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values

The purpose of the entity is to oversee integrated planning for transportation in the province and promote the development of an integrated and accessible public transport network.

Vision

The vision of the TAG is to be Africa’s leading Transport Authority for integrated, and accessible mobility

Mission

The TAG’s mission is to enable the planning implementation and operation of an integrated transport system that promotes sustainable, long-term socio-economic growth for all in Gauteng.
